Competition Program

Competition Program is for dancers ages 4-18 with prior dance training. It is designed for dancers who are interested in the time and commitment level of joining a competition team. There are multiple different options within our Intensive Program of different time, cost, and commitment levels. Intensive dancers are required to audition for team placement.

Boys Crew

Boys Crew is for dancers ages 6-16 years old that would like to get the competition team experience! Boys Crew is a positive and fun environment that teaches boys teamwork, dedication, and commitment in a team setting. 

Boys Crew dancers are committed to their team for one FULL calendar year (June-June). Boys Crew dancers are required to dance 1 hour a week during the Summer Session and two hours a week during the Academic Season. Required classes are 1 hour of competition choreography and 1 hour of Hip Hop tricks and technique.

Dress Code: During the Summer Session any color is accepted. During the Academic Season Boys Crew dancers are required to wear all black dance clothes to their classes. Appropriate Hip Hop shoes must always be worn in classes.

All Boys Crew performances are mandatory.  Boys Crew will learn and perform an entire team production number to be performed during the fall/winter months. Boys Crew will learn and compete a Hip Hop routine at three dance competitions during the spring (March, April, May) and will have multiple other performance opportunities in the spring including the Energy Dance Company Spring Recital.

Boys Crew Dancers will have the opportunity to participate in an additional competition Character Routine.  This additional routine is open to any competition dancer that would like to participate in an additional routine this year. We will also offer additional classes designed specifically for our team dancers. These additional classes are each $15 a month with additional costume fees (+competition fees for Character Routine).

Boys Crew dancers will have team building parties every few months throughout the year, along with a formal team banquet held at the end of the season. There will also be additional practices scheduled during performance months.

  • Audition Requirements: Minimum 1 year of dance experience required before auditioning. Dancers must be attentive and focused throughout a two-hour class block. Dancers with behavioral issues will not be admitted onto Boys Crew.

Required Academic Session Schedule: 2 hours, one night a week

 

Tiny Team 

Tiny Team is for Preschool and Kindergarten aged dancers that are ready to be introduced to the competition world! Tiny Team gives good exposure into the world of competition dance without overwhelming these young developing dancers.

Tiny Team dancers are committed to their team for one FULL calendar year (June-June). Tiny Team dancers are required to dance 1 hour a week during the Summer Session and two hours a week during the Academic Season. Required classes are 1 hour of competition choreography and 1 hour of dance technique.

Dress Code: During the Summer Session any color is accepted. During the Academic Season Tiny Team dancers are required to wear a black leotard to their classes. Appropriate dance shoes must always be worn in classes. Their hair should always be pulled back and out of their face.

All Tiny Team performances are mandatory.  Tiny Team will learn and perform an entire team production number to be performed during the fall/winter months. Tiny Team will learn and compete a Jazz routine at three dance competitions during the spring (March, April, May) and will have multiple other performance opportunities in the spring including the Energy Dance Company Spring Recital.

Junior Team is a great outlet for dancers that would like to participate in competition dance with minimal time and financial obligations.  Junior Team is for dancers ages 5-16 years old. We have multiple Junior Teams based off age and ability level, that will be determined at auditions.

Junior Team dancers are committed to their team for one FULL calendar year (June-June). Junior Team dancers are required to dance 2 hours a week during the Summer Session. During the Academic Season, Junior Team dancers will come for 2 hours on either Monday or Tuesday and 2 hours on Thursday (totaling 4 hours a week).

Dress Code: During the Summer Session any color is accepted. During the Academic Season Junior Team dancers are required to wear a black leotard with pink tights and pink ballet shoes to ballet classes. Dancers are required to wear a black leotard and appropriate jazz shoes to all other classes. Their hair should always be pulled back and out of their face.

All Junior Team performances are mandatory.  Junior Team will learn and perform an entire team production number to be performed during the fall/winter months. Junior Team will learn and compete a Jazz routine at three dance competitions during the spring (March, April, May) and will have multiple other performance opportunities in the spring including the Energy Dance Company Spring Recital.

Extreme Team

Extreme Team is for intermediate and advanced dancers ages 7-18 years that would like to push their dancing to the next level. Extreme Team requires positivity, good sportsmanship, and commitment from each team member. Extreme Team will be divided into multiple teams based on age, ability level, work ethic and performance quality of the dancers.

Extreme Team dancers are committed to their team for one FULL calendar year (June-June). Extreme Team dancers are required to dance 3 hours a week during the Summer Session and 6 hours a week during the Academic Season. During the Academic Season, Extreme Team dancers will come for 3 hours on either Monday or Tuesday and 3 hours on Thursday (totaling 6 hours a week). Dancers must do a minimum of one year on Junior Team or come from a program with similar hours prior to being placed on Extreme Team.

Elite Team Dancers will have the opportunity to participate in an additional competition Character Routine.  This additional routine is open to any competition dancer that would like to participate in an additional routine this year. We will also offer additional classes designed specifically for our team dancers. These additional classes are each $15 a month with additional costume fees (+competition fees for Character Routine).

Elite Team dancers will have team building parties once a month throughout the year, along with a formal team banquet held at the end of the season. There will also be additional practices scheduled during performance months.

Premier Team 

Premier Team is for intermediate/advanced dancers age 10-18 years old looking to take their technique to the next level of competition. Premier Team requires the upmost positivity, good sportsmanship, and commitment from each team member. This year, Premier Team could possibly be divided into multiple teams depending on the ages and ability levels of the dancers that audition. Dancers that audition for Premier Team, but do not get a placement will be moved onto Extreme Team. 

Premier Team dancers are committed to their team for one FULL calendar year (June-June). During the Summer Session Premier Team will dance four hours a week on one day. During the Academic session Premier Team will dance three days a week for three hours each day totaling nine hours a week on Monday, Tuesday and Thursdays.

Dress Code: During the Summer Session any color is accepted. During the Academic Season Premier Team dancers are required to wear a black leotard with pink tights and pink ballet shoes to ballet classes. Dancers are required to wear a black leotard with pink tights and pink ballet shoes to ballet classes. Dancers are required to wear a black leotard and appropriate jazz shoes to all other classes. Their hair should always be pulled back and out of their face.

All Premier Team performances are mandatory. Premier Team will learn and perform an entire team production number to be performed during the fall/winter months. Premier Team will learn and compete Jazz, Lyrical, and Hip Hop routines at three dance competitions during the spring (March, April, May) and have multiple other performance opportunities in the spring. Premier Team will learn additional routines to be performed in the Energy Dance Company Spring Recital.
